Construction has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a father who was a general contractor, job sites were a normal part of childhood. Many weekends were spent sweeping houses after the trades left for the day and watching homes take shape from the ground up. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship and the building process.
After earning a Business degree from UNC Wilmington, I moved to the Outer Banks and discovered how rewarding it was to build and repair homes along the coast. I initially started in Nags Head, where I spent six years working as a carpenter apprentice. Later I moved to Ocracoke where I helped construct the Down Creek Art Gallery and Condominiums and afterwards started my first construction business. During those years, I also built my first home on a remote island in the Bahamas, an experience that challenged my construction and logistical skills while deepening my passion for creating quality homes.
My career eventually took me to the Washington, DC area, where I worked as a project manager for a high-end builder specializing in large-scale renovations of historic row houses. There, I gained valuable experience coordinating architects, designers, tradespeople, inspectors, vendors, and homeowners while preserving the character and craftsmanship of historic properties.
Today, Pucella Construction brings together more than 20 years of hands-on experience across the Outer Banks, the Bahamas, and Washington, DC. While the company was established in 2024, the knowledge, skills, and dedication behind it have been built over a lifetime in construction. We take pride in delivering quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and lasting value on every project.
